This is a gallery of black and white galleries taken during recent visits to Kew Gardens. The photographs are a mixture of landscape photography and close up shots of some of the trees in the gardens.
These photographs are studies of light and shadow playing on texture and structure. The skeletal forms of the trees which are losing their leaves form intricate patterns lit by the low angle of the autumn sunshine.
The details of bark and wood half illuminated and half in shadow show the variety of textures and patterns in different trees - redwoods, pines and eucalyptus are amongst the trees shown in this gallery - and only Kew Gardens could boast such a diverse collection.
